One Coat Process for 'Just In Time' Production

Today, powder coating of MDF is fast gaining interest amongst furniture and woodworking companies, as well as specifiers and designers. For the 'just in time' world of furniture manufacturers and shop fitters, powder coating is ideal. The one coat process is hard and durable and free of any sags and runs giving a protective finish that is aesthetically pleasing and scratch, impact and abrasion resistant.

The coating comes in a huge range of colours, matching all Ral's, Pantones, NCS and BS numbers. Specialist finishes can be matched, replicating Laminates and Melamine surface textures.

Powder coating of MDF with a single coat provides the wood with a durability of finish recognised by the furniture industry, in its FIRA 6250 certification. The powder conforms to the industries severest testing, and passes all performance requirements for resistance to impact, dry and wet heat, as well as resistance to cold liquids, oils and fats.

Our 'state of the art' plant, designed for modern, low bake powders has an overhead conveyor with hangers, double-pass convection heating tunnel for pre-conditioning of MDF, infrared flash-off zone, electrostatic spraying, gas fired, infrared curing and cooling zone. Our plant has the flexibility to easily handle different thicknesses and densities of MDF.
